Re: Toto's "Africa" SynthBrass Sound
Indeed stunning patch!!! Somehow it must have slipped my attention, but absolutely great just using a NS Synth!! Cannot test the NS2P files due to not having the NS, but this one really nails it!! Kudos Alex!!AlexNagel wrote:Hi,
Here's my take on Toto's 'Africa" SynthBrass Sound for the Nord Stage. I even included the marimba sound in
the upper zone using a split.

Re: Toto's "Africa" SynthBrass Sound
I have just read this :
http://www.nordkeyboards.com/main.asp?t ... slib=Synth
FM is part of the synth section on the NS2 (3 osc).
CS-80 , analog 1 oscilliator per voice, 8 voices ...
GS1 is here, in Nord's Library :Here's the definitive scoop from Oct 82 issue of Keyboard mag Toto interview.
Keyboard Editor:
What else is going on in "Africa"?
David Paich:
The kalimba is all done with the GS1. It's six tracks of GS1 playing different rhythms. There's a high organ sound that's GS1, and I wrote the song on CS-80, so that plays the main part of the entire tune.

Re: Toto's "Africa" SynthBrass Sound
I like "NL2X Toto Soft Brass", one of the better brass patches I've heard for the NS2.
Thanks to whoever created it!
