, nah - how often do I need a bottom A anyway?!Kayj_prod wrote:Close enough for the pub! (Punters )
I thought it was just me that got hung up about the LFO not restarting on key press.
...I see you have a new addition to your straw bale. Aren't you worried about getting muck under your key contacts?

Re: Queen
This patch works a little better - it uses the Yamaha Studio Grand piano and the sample Full Strings, both from the Nord library.
There's a little amp on the piano to make it sound brighter, but it's not possible to add the FM bell sound without another slot... (so use an external midi synth).
The arpeggio is on Slot A. I'm not messing with the volume to make it cut-out, that's the square wave LFO.
To get the effect, start with the filter (Freq knob) at it's far left position, and the LFO (Freq Mod 1 knob) at about 7. Then sweep up the filter slowly to about 2 O'clock, you might want to simultaneously bring the LFO knob anti-clockwise a little if you are feeling dexterous! If it was an encoder instead of a pot, you could do both with a morph, but there we are. You could still map the filter to the Mod Wheel though, if you prefer.
Edit: ideally you wouldn't want to start with the bottom F piano note. If I was performing, I might start the arpeggio with the volume down, then bring it up.
Due to the fact that the arp does not key sync, it might be hard to get it in time with the drum beat, but it doesn't seem to matter too much if it's a little off.
It's still only good enough for a pub gig

Re: Queen
Here's another one I knocked up over lunch - nothing special really, just a Saw synth overlaid and split with the sample 16Celli which is in the Acoustic Strings on the Nord site. The timing is slightly off in my demo - i know, i know. Must try harder next time
