Obladi Oblada. Piano on the right, sax on the left...or something that sounds vaguely like a sax, as allowed byt the sample library

Penny Lane.
Again we had a second keyboardist here for the piano parts, so this program covers only the trumpets and flutes. I have tried as hard as I could but I think it's impossible to play this song to a decent level of faithfulness on the NS2, using only 2 hands.

Get Back, Don't Let me Down, I've got a Feeling etc

Post by Spider »

Get Back, Don't Let me Down, I've got a Feeling, and all the songs which require a Rhodes sound. I tried to create a full-bodied sound which could also bite during the solos, by layering the Nefertiti (full and rich but quite dark) with the Bright Tines, to give it some bells and sparkle.

Thanks Cookie! I have several more, I will upload them when I find the time. Even though they are very specialized programs for an old instrument, I thought they may be useful to the community, as Beatles are played so ubiquitously and as there are still so many Stage 2/2EX users around.

Thanks so much, this is a ton of work here! My band does Lady Madonna and Back in the USSR (can't wait to get the airplane sound - I used to simulate this with a synth sound - I'll try to find it). We also do Birthday pretty much every gig when someone in the crowd asks the band to sing Happy Birthday.

Thanks again!

I fired up my NS2 and found the USSR Program I made many years ago. This has a basic upright piano in Slot A and has a synthesized airplane sound in Slot B. Use the LFO rate knob and have fun with it!

Thanks! Yes we had a fairly active tribute for a few years, and we put in a lot of work on the sounds and vocals.
The jet sound for Back in the USSR is in the sample I uploaded in the first post. It's a "utility" sample I made by combining various sounds (claps, bells, jet planes, octopus bubbles... :? ) on single keys in the lowest split zone, separately by silent keys to minimize the risk of hitting the wrong sound. So basically you have all the keyboard to play say, piano, and just reach out to the bottom left when you need a sound effect.
Anyway, I will post the specific program for BITUSSR, where the sample is looped using the Hold function.

>>> EDIT: Back in the USSR is already posted: it used the same "piano+sound fx" program that I uploaded in the 2nd post, the same as for I want to Hold Your Hand etc.
The jet plane will loop forever and should be more or less in time with the song (honestly it doesn't matter much if it's not perfectly in sync). To stop it, either turn off the Hold function, hit any of the "silent keys" of the sample, or simply lift the control pedal to silence the sound until you move to the next song. I edited the first and second post accordingly, to better clarify how to use the sample/program.

For Birthday, the sounds are there in the program I posted. Nothing really special, just piano and organ... the trick is playing the tambourine at the same time!

Sgt Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band.
A split with two brass sounds with very different equalization, to simulate the horn section of the Sergeant's Band.

Something. Organ, strings and piano on the left split (used only on the descending scale that introduces the guitar solo).
