Looking for a sample of the intro to Fantasy by Aldo Nova...Any sample of this would be greatly appreciated...

I too would like to get my hands on this intro sample. I’m Not very technical when it comes to making samples other than figuring out how to download

The original video has a pretty long intro with machine guns, helicopter, high resonance filter effect, pads, etc. - what sounds are you specifically wanting to recreate?

Guys, I don't have that specific clip to share, but the following process will open you up to a whole world of capturing samples from any audio you can play on a Windows PC, including any YouTube videos. It does not take any special or advanced technical skills.

1. Download Audacity and install it.

2. Configure Audacity for Windows WASAPI loopback recording to digitally capture audio that is being played on your computer. Make sure you select the correct "loopback" device for recording.

3. Start recording in Audacity and play the video. You may have to try a couple of different "loopback" options before you select the correct one.


4. Trim if you wish, export as a WAV file (File > Save Other > Export as WAV), then import into Nord Sample Editor.

I actually have audacity, and have used it with mp3 files I got off our Nord Forum, but haven't taken a video recording from an on-line source like you tube etc...So if I did like you are talking about on my computer with looping digital recording I can get what I want? What is the easiest way to transfer a video from you tube etc to record it? Lol And again thanks for responding!

I'd suggest sampling without the machine guns - not a good idea in any public setting If it's going to be a long sample, consider doing it in mono to save sample space (sample size cut in half). Good luck

Yeah you're probably right!! Machine guns probably wouldn't be a good idea!!! Lmao!! Appreciate all the advice guys! Fantasy by Aldo Nova is just one of many samples I'm looking to have... Ultimately my main goal is to get recorded song parts on to audacity that I could transfer to the sound editor.... Like a recorded sound etc from YouTube... I know there is a process to get that done... I'm digging into, but if there is an easier way to achieve doing so... Please let me know.... Always appreciate the help of talented folks on the Nord forum which is spectacular in my book!

Hi @hernjov1 - You don't need to download or transfer the file, just play and watch the video like you normally do. Using the WASAPI loopback settings, Audacity will capture the digital audio from the video as it plays. It works with YouTube, Spotify, Pandora, mp3 files, etc.

@ Ajstan, thanks for all your help bud.... I now can use music videos and audios from all providers on my computer like You tube to transfer to Audacity then transfer to the Nord sound editor.... That's huge for me, and I appreciate your simple explanation of how to achieve the goal I had! Thank You Much!!
