Post by SupertrampFanBoi »

Hi everyone, I recently started playing some Deep Purple songs.
I already have a good Hammond sound but I`am not quite Happy with it and I thought, if anyone could give some tips how to get a better Jon Lord sounding Hammond.

thanks in advance

If you are short of time, just buy those sounds. Amazing value for money

Current Keyboard Rig: Nord Stage 3 compact, Yamaha Montage 7wh, Yamaha YC61, Alesis Fusion 6HD. Yamaha babygrand Piano. Extra sounds Ipad with AUM and plenty of synth apps + onsong pro

Okay, my nord is the NE5, and I see that the two of you asking for the sounds have a stage 3 or stage 2, but as far as the solo organ is concerned it may help.

I play Lazy with the settings as follows:

General System Settings:
B3 vintage 3
Key Click High
Bounce On
Perc Decay Fast and Slow: Medium
Dto. Volume Normal and Soft
Rotary 122close
Bass/Horn 40/60
Horn Speed Normal
Horn Acc Low
Rotor Speed and Acc. Normal

Drawbars 888272773

Now the rates of the potis as seen in the foto:
Eff1 9.7 - this is my solution for the Made in Japan Intro Ringmodulator. The further I get, the more I reduce the RM Rate down to Zero.

Spkr/Comp 10.0

Reverb 4.4

EQ Bass +6.4
Mid Freq 2,4 Gain +5,2
Treble +9.5

I love it on stage!

And now Hush:
As there are several recordings of DP we may feel more liberate with the sound. I use what I use for Highway Star:

Generals the same as for Lazy

Drawbars 888071766

Effects settings as follows (I haven‘t moved the knobs in the foto accordingly):

Spkr/Comp 8.9

Reverb 3.9

EQ Bass +12.6
Mid Freq 458 Gain +7.9
Treble +11.0

I love this as well, but I‘m also open to any other good idea.

I do really look forward to playing live very soon again! Boah, it‘s such a hard time without! Enjoy life, sunny regards from Germany.
