We will be rehearsing "I Wish" for the first time with our post-Covid band lineup at today's rehearsal.
We do have a trumpet and sax in our band (my son and I).
But I would say it's more important to get the different syncopated rhythms covered: (1) the part of 8th and 16th notes played in this version by a guitar. (2) the chords played usually on an EP, which have a different syncopation, and of course (3) the bass line, which can be covered by an electric bass. If your bass guitar player uses a 4-string bass, he might tune down his low E string half a step (this has been our bass player's choice).

If you have no horns in your band, you might consider using a B3 organ part to covers the hits played by horns in the original. Just get the rhythms right.
