Hi Guys,
I will play this song within two weeks at a gig and I was wondering if you have some patches, either on Stage 2 and/or NL2X for the intro with the arpegiator and pads and also the "baoung" sound that is during the song?

I would try FM synthesis to get the sound you describe. Also, It's nice to see that someone else kept their D50 and PG1000. I bought mine new when they first came out in the 80's.

Yes for FM, that's what I read online....
And yes, I bought my D50 only in 1986/7? but at that time I was in a student/first job situation and so, PG1000 was too expensive....but 3 years ago, I was able to find one and I bought it....

It will take some DIY work yourself, but there's a video on YouTube on a guy who nailed the sound by layering 3 DX patches on the DEXED VST - in the description he lists the patches by name and where to find them. Do it yourself in a DAW, render it to WAVs, and generate your own sample in the sample editor.

As the specific sound was too long to program (Or, as I don't have the skills to do it, maybe...), I ended up doing my own version of it with a patch found in the NL2X factory patches. But the intro with the Pads + the Crescendo just before the Guitar entry, as well as the "back vocals" saying "I'm want my MTV" was done on my Stage 2 and with a D50 layer. If I remember well, the D50 was dong the "Fluttish" sound. I'm tomorrow at my practice place, I will put a note in my Ipad to have a look at it and let you know.

I wonder if anyone has anything for the older nsmp format? Particularly interested in the arpeggiator, if that is something that can done from a sample on a NE3? thanks folks.
