alwas on the quest for interesting new sounds to get some new ideas, just browsed the website of Philipp Koltsov (http://www.koltsov.biz/patches.html
who has a RAR file containing around fifty patches for the Nord Stage (http://www.koltsov.biz/nordstagepatches.rar). While many are the ones from the Yahoo group or others I already knew, there were some interesting ones, in particular two synth based (possibly also from somewhere else but don't remember the original source).
One String patch that sounds rather Mellotronish (IIRC I've heard it somewhere before but not sure).:
The other interesting patch I found was a Plucky Bass good for emulating an accoustic bass when needed:
