Re: Toto's "Africa" SynthBrass Sound
As a (relative) newcomer to this forum I find this post really hard to follow.
There are a few versions posted.
Some posts that are quoted seem to have been removed at some point altogether.
People are commenting on versions without any reference as to which one they have tried...
In any event, the band is trying this song; before I start rearranging all of my sample locations can anyone recommend any of the versions included earlier in this thread, or the newer one in another thread by "mistervince"?
Thanks.
EDIT:
I tried funk76's program. The brass pad is awesome. The aftertouch is assigned to open the filter for just before the chorus. It's quite brilliant.
I wasn't crazy about the kalimba so I used the sample from mistervince. All in all very satisfied. Thanks to all for contributing.

Yeah sometimes it's hard to follow some threads. But glad you've made it [emoji4]
Are you willing to share your program (as bundle/program)? So others can have a benefit of it too?
Thanks for you reply

Re: Toto's "Africa" SynthBrass Sound
Sorry guys and girls, I've never made a bundle before.
It's not hard though, just get the ns2p file from funk76's program (on page 2 of this thread), and on the upper split instead of using his kalimba, download and point to the .nsmp sample in the post on this subforum by 'mistervince'.

- Start Nord Sound Manager (and connect your Nord / power it on)
- Lookup the program and select it
- Click the button at the top that says "Bundle Upload"

Re: Toto's "Africa" SynthBrass Sound
By the way, am I the only one that finds the "upload" and "download" names confusing in the Sound Manager?
Usually when working from the computer, I would say "uploading" to the external device, and "downloading" from the external device into the computer, but it is the way round.

maybe it's because at Nord the keyboard is always positioned lower than the PC?Mr_-G- wrote:By the way, am I the only one that finds the "upload" and "download" names confusing in the Sound Manager?

Seriously, I also find it confusing, to say the least ("wrong" actually?) even if I quickly got used to it.

Same here. Confusing indeed.maxpiano wrote: Seriously, I also find it confusing, to say the least ("wrong" actually?) even if I quickly got used to it.
When working with the Sound Manager, you have to imagine that your're working at your Nord, not at your computer...
