Ta mate,

Thought it was about time i posted some musical on because i have only contributed verbally to threads and lots of other members have added their own videos etc. Obviously i know the Nord a hell of a lot better now (and have programed it up) but at least the video gives viewers a rough idea of how i play and all that.

Ta,

Paul

Hey Hambone,
don't get me wrong from my previous post, I still LOVE and use Logic a lot! (mostly MainStage now, but still...) I think that whichever DAW you use can be totally awesome if you take the time to learn it! The reason I switched to Ableton for that kind of stuff, like Paul's video is because of how easy it is to trigger loops or sequences within Live. It's basically set up like a big grid (in session view) and you can start and stop any clip (loop/ song, whatever) so easily,I found I had to do a lot of extra work/ steps to accomplish this in Logic. I use both in my live setup, I absolutely love the quality of the Logic instruments, specifically their clav sounds, they're phenomenal! but use Ableton mostly now for launching clips, loops and backing tracks (with a Lemur app on my iPad)!
Best,
Martin.

Well Paul, I do not think that you need a different keyboard than that one! ;) Cheers!

Well that sounded very good. Sure a NS2 would bring samples to the synth and some more variety of the npno samples you can hold on memory, but as you saw, there are more samples than RAM at the moment.
You still have the Emu and the JV, I do not think that you are short of potential there... (and certainly more polyphony than the NS2 synth).
If you are unsure, maybe it is worth waiting a little bit more in case a new model comes along. But these kbds cost a lot and making the right choice is important. If you had no kbds this would obviously be a different matter. Cheers.

Yes, i can always bump up my set-up with the Emu and JV180 module(s) as you correctly suggest. On this demo video i am only using the Nord Stage (as you can see) because it was not until last year that i had midi-in the JV and stored all the Program Changes etc.

What i am looking to do is use the Nord Stage on its own, and have the Emu midi-in to a controler keyboard (have been looking at the CME UF range of which there are a few s/h ones one ebay for under £200). So continuing to use the Nord Stage for Piano/Organ/Rhodes (like in my video) but also have a second keyboard for triggering synth sounds on the Emu (for lead lines and soloing etc).
