Hi Quai,
This is very hard to compare since you have several variables: quality of performance/playing, selection of songs, etc.
I play in 2 bands (both 10 persons) and we ask about €1200,- for a 3-set gig.

Re: How much do you charge for a gig?
In three bands at the moment (5/6/7 members).
From as low as €300 to up to €1200 depending on how much material we have to schlepp and the size of the venue. Sometimes we just charge an entry fee (€5 to 6 per person) in bars. Bear in mind that the city I live in is not very receptive to live bands unfortunately...

Re: How much do you charge for a gig?
You cannot compare this across different countries having different currencies and/or cost of living indexes....

my absolute favourite one is the Poang index
back in topic, yes I don't think it's really possible to compare different countries and currencies, or even different cities!
I'm pretty sure gigging musicians in Manhattan make different money from musicians in Hopatcong NJ...
You should check the average money that bands charge in your local scene, and adjust your fees accordng to your specific band size, equipment you provide, musical genre, duration/quality of the show, number of people you're able to attract...

Re: How much do you charge for a gig?
But that's give me an idea, we were thinking to ask around 1200$, I know the rate, different cost of living etc...I was a professor in economy then I have all the ratio to compare in my head....so, thanks a lot anyway....

Re: How much do you charge for a gig?
Wow!!!! I can't believe what some of you guys are charging. North East of England, band supplies all the kit. Guitarist, drummer, keyboard player/second guitar, bassist, lead singer (5 people), 2 x 45 minute sets, £250 - £350. This is the going rate.
