Switching the NS2 power on and of externally

Hi all,

Could it be bad for the NS2 to use an external power switch to switch it on and off,
and leave the power switch of the NS2 in the 'on' state and untouched?
At home, I'm having the NS2, a midi controller and a powered amp all together on one switched power outlet,
making it easy for my 12yr old daughter to switch it all on and off...

Grtz!

Turning the equipment on and off from a power strip is absolutely fine, electrically it is no different from using the equipment's own switches. The amount of electricity is extremely small and I doubt whether the combined power on-surge of all three units (or even more) is even remotely significant.

If you haven't done so already, I would suggest that you make sure that your daughter knows to turn the powered amp volume down first for the sake of the speakers, but that's as far as you need to worry about anything.

Thanks; with the speakers, I'm in luck... there's some kind of delaying circuit in the power up sequence, eliminating any pops. (Yamaha DXR 10)
