Hi Philip
only Nord Stage 2 can load samples from Nord Sample Library.
with Nord Stage classic or EX you can only load samples from Piano Library.
Be sure to download and install latest OS before load new pianos.
cheers
Fab

There are plenty of good contenders here.

Most popular would include:

Yamaha MX49 or MX61

Yamaha MOX6 or MOX8

Roland FA-06 or FA-08

Roland VR-09

Korg Krome series

Korg Kross series

If you're really on a tight budget, the cheapest are the Yamaha MX49 and 61, the Korg Kross, and the Roland VR-09.

Good hunting!

Roland's new DS61 would probably be a better (and cheaper!) choice than the VR09. The VR09 is better for organ, but that's not an issue if you're pairing it with the Nord.

Also, remember that the Nord Stage has a MIDI EXT function, so you can add strings/brass without necessarily having to buy another keyboard. There are sound modules (mostly in the used market, these days), and also, you can grab these sounds from an attached iPad or iPhone using an app like SampleTank or some of the Korg apps.
