Stage 2 Cantabile octave problems
Hi,
There is probably a simple answer, but I can't find it.
Just set up my NS2 using USB 1 as a midi channel in the external section, with my laptop, using Cantabile. However, everytime I play notes on the NS2 Cantabile plays two notes (the played note, and the octave above I think). What's happening/ what setting do I need to change? Had a look in the manuals etc, but couldn't see anything.
Thanks,
Oli

Re: Stage 2 Cantabile octave problems
Check and/or set to off Global channel on NS2 as it is probably set on USB as well.

Re: Stage 2 Cantabile octave problems
Ok, I will check that, thanks. Any other possibilities, anyone?

Re: Stage 2 Cantabile octave problems
Max is correct. The architecture of the midi functions on the Stage series will allow multiple copies of the same data stream to be transmitted on the same channel at once. The global send won't octave shift, but the External Section will. There is no reason to look for other possibilities when the clear answer is right in front of you.

Pablo

Re: Stage 2 Cantabile octave problems
sorry if that sounded rude -- it wasn't intended that way, but the report that you are hearing these dual notes an octave apart very strongly suggests that Max's assumption is correct

Re: Stage 2 Cantabile octave problems
Additional note: check also that only one Extern section is enabled (either Slot A or B) and let us know once you fix it!

@Pablo: no offence taken at all, your input is appreciated. Will report back when I get a chance to go to the studio.
