Sampling Nord Electro 4 for Wave jamming

Hello Wavers! I just love my Electro 4 B3 and EP sounds and want to sample them and load them into my Wave for performance and jamming. New to sampling I am attempting to acommplish this thru Cubase and then Sample Editor. I was planning to use two slots for a basic B3 sound where 1 could be a bit more percussive or one could be a faster leslie etc Same with EP (Rhodes 1 and custom 6 ) sounds. If anybody has any pointers? thanks! Andy

I sampled my NS2 a while back.

You may find it useful-

You can do it, but it won't sound anything like as good as the original sounds. For piano or EP sounds, you will lose all the expressiveness of the originals, because the samples will only have one velocity layer, and as Pablo pointed out in the other thread mentioned, sampling a Hammond sound with movement in it, eg Leslie, vibrato etc, is very difficult to get right.

It would be far easier to try and find sounds in the Sample library that you can use instead. But if you're hoping to end up being able to play the NE4 sounds in the Wave and have them sound similar to the way they are in the E4, that's just not going to happen.

If you already have an Electro, why not jam on it instead of trying to make a poor copy of it to load into your Wave to jam on that instead...?
