midi pitch bend on v 1.24

Hi there

I try to use the pitch bend feature, I have made
* upper/lower split active
* synth sound in upper
* midi channel upper split set to 2 (tried also with 1 at first)
* channel upper receive set to 2
* sending keyboard (roland ax-09) send on channel 2

I actually DO get the notes played using the whole register - but the pitch bend doesn't work. I.e. it shouldn't be a midi channel problem.

I tried using a different keyboard than the ax9 as controller and still no response to pitch bend, though the notes play,

I'm kind of baffled. Which CC is is needed ? - I cant find it in the manuals, perhaps because it wasn't there from the start.
Any other good ideas are welcom

Pitch bend has never been supported on the nord electro series, and isn't on the 5, either, AFAIK. It's not listed in the MIDI implementation chart on page 21 of the user manual.

I don't believe any of the Electro models respond to Pitch Bend messages. The Midi controller list on page 21 of the Electro 5 manual does not list it as one of the parameters.

Upper part pitch bend via MIDI was added in v1.2 update. See history here

I have not downloaded v1.24 to see if it still works. I have used it before on the NE5.

As long as we're doing the Department of Redundancy Department thing, I wanted to point out that, apparently, pitch bend for the upper part was added in the update to firmware v1.2. :wave:

Good to hear that at least someone have had it working. I kick myself for upgrading from 1.20 (due to a weird clavinet problem) just before trying the pitch bend.

Have anyone had this working on 1.24 ? - Wouldn't you agree that if notes actually play, and if the controller pitch bend works on other devices - then surely there must be a software error in 1.24 here ?

it works on 1.24 :keyboard: you have to set the keyboard split point to midi upper rcv in order to use it see pag 15 of the manual. I tested it with various lead sounds from the library....

Also, and apologies if this has been pointed out, pitch bend will only work on the samples - not on the piano or organ sections. I'm running v1.24 and pitch bend works for me.

I must be doing something else wrong then. I just don't understand how the (sample section) notes can play, even the low end of the keyboard where I'd otherwise get an organ, while the pitch bend doesn't take. But thx. to the ones who have confirmed this to be possible on 1.24. At least now I know it's not a bug. Perhaps it's some kind of weird MSB/LSB configuration or something. There are no specs from Nord Electro on this, as far as I can see.
