Hi! This is my first time on a forum in general, so I apologize if i'm breaking any rules.
I spent quite a bit of time looking this topic up, and read the manual but nothing really helped me.
I have the Nord Stage revision B, and a Mac Os 10.6.8. I'm trying to get the computer to recognize the nord
as a midi controller. I imagine it can do this via USB (or is that only for dumps?, and updates?)
I would like to use it primarily for Logic, Pro-Tools, and SIbelius. I have been playing around with my Audio/Midi set up for a while now, with no luck. If somebody could please advise it would be greatly appreciated.
Also, I understand that on a MAc I do not need a driver - but perhaps I was misinformed and that is my problem.
Thank you
Nord stage (revision b) connection to computer

Re: Nord stage (revision b) connection to computer
Hi Kdevo,
"...I'm trying to get the computer to recognize the nord as a midi controller. I imagine it can do this via USB..."
That assumption is what's causing the problem. Midi-over-USB function did not appear in any Nord instrument until spring of 2010 with the Nord Piano. Your early model Nord Stage Classic predates this by several years. The USB connection on your instrument is indeed only for updates and sound upload/downloads.
If you wish to use your Nord as a VST controller, you'll need a midi interface to do this.
Bless,
Pablo

@pablomastodon
thank you! I was wondering about whether that may be the problem. ok - i'll go dig up some midi cables and hopefully that'll be the last of my problems.

I'm a bit confused because your profile says "Nord Stage 2". In that case it should work.

@FunKey That was my mistake: It's a Nord Stage revision B
