Hello there people, have you noticed any differences between the samples of the new 2.0 library and the old ones.Beyond the size that is smaller,
I cannot listen any difference at least in the mellotron samples but I didn't do any AB comparison thing.
I just used one more sound with the new space that was left.

I believe that smaller size is the main objective in v2.0 releases. This is especially valuable to NE3/4D owners (the people whom Nord has supposedly forgotten about) who have only 68MB of sample memory, allowing them to load more samples. For the most part (if not all) these are not brand new samples done from scratch, but optimization of existing samples.

So the NE5 already came loaded with these smaller v2.0 samples?

ALL factory loaded samples on NE5 are v2.0, which you can easily see from within Nord Sound Manager where it lists the version number for each sound.

My 5D arrived in July. My samples say version 1.5 in Sound Manager and the names of the samples end in v5.

Not sure if this is true for the factory bank that is downloadable from Nordkeyboards.com, and if that is worth doing...

I think you are mistaking npno piano samples with nsmp 1-layer samples.

All NE5s leaving Sweden for foreign lands anywhere on the globe are loaded with the same original factory load, and almost certainly will be for the entire duration of this instrument's production run.
