Best Nord Option for me

Everything about Nord keyboards in general; which one to choose, the sound manager, sample editor, and general discussion about the sample and piano libraries.

Best Nord Option for me

Post by ByronQ »

I’m a player, no longer professional, but still love to improvise for a couple hours a day on my acoustic. I love the action and the sounds aboard a Nord Electro 4 HP and am enthused that it is possible to travel with it (along with being able to play privately, with headphones). This model of Electro is considerably cheaper than the Nord Piano 2 HP. My question is am I missing something significant by buying the Electro as compared to the Piano 2? I’m basically interested using it as a substitute for an acoustic piano and will probably ignore most of the other sounds and features.

The Nord Triple Pedal is included with the Nord Piano 2 HA88. Available as optional accessory for the Nord Piano 2 HP.

Having a triple Pedal is not so important to me. Also not so important is the Advanced String Resonance, Selectable Long Release and Selectable Pedal Noise. I suppose these features are the difference and part of the higher price. I just like the 73 note weighted keyboard and it looks as if the Electro 4 HP may be my least expensive option.

Is the keyboard and the action on these two models, Piano 2 HP and the Electro 4 HP the same?

Hi Byron,

The two HP actions are the same, interchangeable part. Given the criteria you listed above, it sure does seem as though the NE4-HP will be the best fit for you. And who knows -- you may start noodling around on organ from time to time!

BLess,

Pablo

Adding to all the above:
All Nord Piano 2 models can layer a pi.sound with a sample ;)
For ex ; piano/strings combination .
Can't do that on a Electro 4 ....
