Alesis wireless Vortex MIDI'd to Stage 2?

Interested in using Alesis Wireless Vortex 'keytar' keyboard to trigger keyboard sounds/playing on the Stage 2 via WIRELESS MIDI feature of the Alesis - without the use of a PC or Mac.

I understand Kenton USB Host should work as the necessary USB Host -tho is quite expensive!

Also iConnectMIDI, although I'm not sure which version of iConnectMIDI (I'm hoping the original version). I think iConnectMIDI version 2 and 3 won't act as USB host, although perhaps version 4 or 4+ may??

Any issues with Nord USB class compliance, etc. in using an iConnectMIDI device? (since can't upload a Nord USB driver to the device, if required)

Am hoping to use just the Vortex keyboard, said USB/MIDI host device (into which I'd plug the Vortex wireless USB 'dongle'), and the Nord Stage 2. Any thoughts, suggestions, comments most appreciated.

Thanks

NS2 USB MIDI is fully Class Compliant, I haven't tested with iConnect but with the iPad; question is if also the Vortex dongle is Class Compliant (I assume so).

An alternative, to bridge a USB MIDI to another USB MIDI OR a MIDI DIN, is to use a Raspberry PI as explained here https://www.gearslutz.com/board/electro ... i-din.html but of course this require some expertise on the PI and Linux OS.

It doesn't work... So, I control my NS2 with an Alesis (pre-wireless version) Vortex and this: http://pandamidi.com/#about

Works flawlessly... Through walls and at great distances from the receiver. I've never experienced a dropout after much gig testing.

Here are some pics of receiver Velcro'd to the back of NS2 and transmitter Velcro'd to Vortex....

Thanks for the feedback everyone (btw I'm not sure how to post 'thanks' to individuals)

In fact I was very surprised today to find at least one brand-new original version iConnectMIDI in my area music store chain, which is the version I was hoping for, so I will be checking it out for myself when it comes in. Can be returned if no go but I have a feeling will be fine. I can report back my findings.

Cheers

Hi Corvair,

In case you missed it, this might interest you, also wireless controller:

btw, Max, my English teacher always said that a preposition is a bad thing to end a sentence with
(actually, it was a bass player with a weird sense of humor -- and here I am repeating it!)
