Newbie Questions on Sample Editor

Post by paulchier1680 »

Nord Community,

I am a new Sample Editor User and I cannot load .NSMP files that I have on my hard drive into the editor - It would appear I can only bring in new wave files into the editor to turn into .nsmp files.

Is there a way to take .nsmp files and edit them? Am I completely missing something?

This kind of question has cropped up before, but AFAIK once a sample has been 'packaged' (compressed, encoded) into nord proprietary .nsmp format, it can't be unwrapped or edited again
(Presumably unless you work at Clavia... who must have secret tools for turning .nsmp back to WAV ;) )

And now for something completely different...

Hi Paultini,

This is correct. It is not possible to load .nsmp files into Sample Editor, only .wav files (16-bit, 44.1kHz, mono or stereo). Sample Editor freeware is for "rolling your own" samples from scratch. Nord does not allow manipulation of the contents of their Sample Library (without resampling, that is).

Bless,

Pablo
