Anemic brass patches

This is a general query to NS2 owners. I am quite satisfied with the vast majority of sounds on the NS2, including pianos, EPianos, Clav, strings, pads, organ, some wind instruments, and lead synths. But the brass patches are a big disappointment. They are uniformly anemic compared with brass patches I've found or been able to generate on a Korg Karma, a Korg M50, or a Motif XS module. What I can get from other sound sources are sounds that are punchy and both deep and bright. That's what I need for the R&B I play regularly.
Do other NS2 owners have the same problem? I am new to Nord.

I agree. The brass sounds suck! Nord did say they are releasing a new brass library soon so hopefully that will change...until then resampling or using a vst is prob the best solution besides outright buying another keyboard

Yes - the brass patches that ship with the unit are weak - at least compared to my Motif XS. I did find one I like tho that sounds good live. I too have high hopes for the new brass library. As an FYI - I just recently bought the MR Sax T vst and I used it in a sax solo last Sunday. You should have seen jaws drop on that one. That thing is amazing. I played it via midi from the NS 2 with a Yamaha FC7 pedal mapped to expression - aftertouch mapped to growl, mod wheel mapped to vibrato and also the pitchbender. Was a bit of an adjustment from the traditional wheels on my Motif but it worked well.......

Gospelkeys,
Which sound did you find in your NS2 that "sounds good live"? Maybe I didn't notice it on my NS2.

The one I like is called Bary and Horn. Seems to be the best of the bunch......

One problem with all samples (pianos excluded) is that you don't have velocity layers. All you can do is to filter them with different velocities. IMO this is a reason why don't get very good/realistic/expressive sounds from Nord synth engine...
