Newbie with a question

Hi. I'm the recent proud owner of a Lead 2x keyboard version. I've been eyeing this (and the Lead 3) for a while as an enhancement to my main board (Yamaha Motif XS8.)

I love having knobs to edit on the fly, and look forward to making a lot of music more intuitively with this.

I have a question for anyone who might be able to help. I purchased this used, from someone who was basically just using the presets. I am interested in going a bit deeper, and in reading the manual, esp. re shift functions, the prose suffers a bit in translation.

So, the question is, does anyone have additional resources they might suggest re learning this board? One area of immediate interest - when using in performance mode, is there any way to be able to adjust the volume of the different slots with respect to each other? Beyond multi-output, handle at the mixing board, that is?

Thanks, all.

Hej Bubba!

Congrats to selecting an excellent kbd!

Learning the board? Search this forum carefully for any old descriptions of NL2X or even NLA1 patches. Through following some rough descriptions for any patch, you will be more and more familiar with the knobs on your NL. Tough task, but rewarding in the end! 8-)

Volume on different slots? Eh ... on my NLs I just put focus on the slot I want to tweak and then twist the knob on top to the right (Gain? or Level?). :?

For such a hands-on machine, that's a real crime! I hope it has a better home with you :-)

Hi, Michael. Thanks both for your reply, and the work you have done other places, notably patches. At least I have some background on the machines that were available mid-70's - thus my love for the knobs! Sometimes, when programming the Yamaha (which is a great board for my purposes, but needs to lose about 40 lbs - kind of like me, I suppose) I feel like the ape at the monolith in 2001!

More avid, certainly. Better - remains to be seen
