What do you think?

Everything about Nord keyboards in general; which one to choose, the sound manager, sample editor, and general discussion about the sample and piano libraries.

Hej Pcarrilho!

SW would be no problem? But is there a free HW switch/button to be used for that?

Marketing-wise, on the other hand, it would be no good?

NE4 has a lot of switch that can be used (SHIFT + some switch) :)

I am nor happy with NORD, because i buy my NE4 some weeks before NAMM ;)
I think the NE4 "Life" was to short....

True. Doesn't make a lot of sense adding new features to an older product line so it competes with the new one (E5)... Clavia have to pay the rent somehow, and bacon* only goes so far... ;-)

I'd have to think the hardware issue is beyond whether or not there is a button.. Adding multitimbrality likely needed some other hardware changes in the way the circuitry is laid out.

I also bought my NE4 just before namm. I love it so much it is hard to care what's in the new one, after the initial shock wore off :)

Cowfunk is correct about that. It is not possible to simply wave a magic wand, or issue a new OS, which will suddenly allow the existing hardware of the NE4 to do these new tricks. Adding those new tricks would necessarily involve a complete re-engineering of the instrument, which is what the NE5 is. Another step in the natural evolution.

Bless,

Pablo
