Is it normal all the buttons noise when you play the piano??

Post by DanDare »

I get a lot of noise from the buttons of my NS2 when I'm playing the piano, if i press the board with something it is less noisy, is like it is not tight enough and makes a lot of noise that distracts me when I'm studying. It's been like that since I remember...Is that normal??

Hej Dan!

What version of NS2 do you have (HA88, HA76, SW73)

Is it the keys or the buttons that make the noise?

I have the Nord Stage 2 88keys...The first series (Rev A). When I play the keys the board (where every button is) sounds a lot...like they are not tight. I try to press the board with something at home and makes less noise!!
Thanks!!

I have a similar vibration effect on my NS2. When I switch on it seems that the steel cover touches something in the area of the piano section and start to vibrate. With a little pressure of my thumb on that sport (on the edge of the steel cover and key) it stops vibration. While playing I don’t hear that vibration.

Is it that what you mean with “Noise from the buttons”.

The NS2 HA keybed is noisy, the full-metal case just amplifies this noise, (other DPs use a wooden base instead, but weight goes up); there is not much you can do about it, other than ensurimg you use a good keyboard stand (best if table-shape and with some rubber strips on its top, to ensure perfect contact with NS2 bottom and also avoid propagating the vibrations between the two)

I do the same to avoid the shaking sound of the panel and buttons, I press the panel a little and stops for a while depending on how hard I'm playing...if it's just notes the noise stops longer. If I play piano harde rit comes back sooner...maybe a minute!! Well, at least now I now it's not just my NS2 the one with this issue. Seems like it is part of the deal!!. Thanks guys!!

I tried pressing it with my leg from the bottom and the noise reduce considerably!! otherwise sounds like all the metal parts and buttons are loose...But pressing from the bottom looks like a solution!!!

After a year of playing on almost every day my vibration on my NS2 is almost gone. It is so few that I’m not recognize it anymore for the last half year or so.

On the beginning I can only hear when it was silent in the room. Now I have to go with my ear very close to the piano section to hear it.
