As mentioned on the Nord website:
This collection focuses on traditional Chinese Orchestra instruments, with exclusively sampled string and wind instruments such as Dizi, Erhu, Guqin, Guzheng, Liuqin, Pipa, Suona, Xiao and Zhongruan.

The Chinese Instrument collection was created by Pierre Pradat, a french musician established in Bejing, China.

Hello everybody,

I actually produced this Chinese Orchestra sample library for Nord. As a Nord fan and musician living and working in China, I've always wanted to be able to play myself traditional Chinese instruments on my Nord. There was no comprehensive library on the market for free or commercially available so I felt that would be an interesting project to do.
The idea is also on one side to let Chinese musicians using on Nord keyboards (very appreciated brand here) quality sounds they really need. On an other side, I wanted to let other users in the world discover and experiment those great centuries/millenium old instruments.

It took me 3 months of work and a lot of money/people was involved in the process.

I am also personally looking forward Nord releasing a Rhodes XL but as usual this is a library available for free so maybe some users comments could be a bit more respectful, open minded and appreciative of the effort put onto this.

Also, I would be happy to see Nord developing more on the Chinese Market and I'm happy to contribute. As a fan of the brand, I understand the better the business can be, the more investment might be made to develop even better products and sounds. And frankly I prefer to hear people/students around me play Nord than cheap Piano/Rhodes/Synth sounds from other Japanese brands.

I will be happy to improve this collection in the future thanks to the feedback from enthusiastic users. There can still be improvement on the ratio size/loop length, the mastering of the sounds (adjustment of instrument noise). So please feel free to play those instruments in a traditional way or any onboard effect and let me know your impressions.

Hi Pierre
My comment was in no way at all meant to be disrespectful, so apologies if you interpreted it that way. I think you have obviously made a fantastic contribution to the Nord library, and what I meant was that this will help Nords to become even more widely used across China than they may already be. Good for Clavia, good for China and good for us existing Nord users, as the more Nords sold, the stronger the brand becomes, and the bigger the community.
Thank you for your great contribution!

EDIT: OK, on closer re-reading of this thread it may not have been my post you were referring to, but I am sure no disrespect was intended by anyone

Interesting, I like the idea, and what I'm hearing in the demo!
nice sounds to experiment with too - pity I can't load them into my Stage ('Classic')

Must have been a really cool project to work on as well!
thumbs up!

Great work, thank you very much for this titanic effort! As you refered and I agree, the loop size could be improved but please maintain the realistic aspect of the instruments (noises, scratches, ressonances, etc) a la Mellotron

Bravo ;)
