Hi,

I just got the Nord Drum 2. And already experienced at least one system hang... the keys became unresponsive, while ND2 was still able to receive and process midi input messages.
I had to reboot the ND2 and it fixed it.

I was wondering if anyone experienced similar issues and what is the overall impression about the stability of the software/hardware of ND2.

I never had anything like that...
You said it occurred at least once, how many times did it occur already?
what is your setup, connected MIDI devices/computer software/app/MIDI clock setup/..? did it occur right after switching the ND2 on?
/can you relate it to something you did; can you trigger it by (dis-)connecting something, sending something specific thru MIDI etc,
if it seems so, maybe some of us can try to reproduce it..
..or is it just randomly occurring?

It happened just once so far. I was using NI Maschine controller to send midi messages to ND2.

The only thing unusual I guess is that it happened after the update to v.3 (not immediately though) and before the first restart. So hopefully it was a one-off glitch... Let see how it behaves from now on.
Good to know that others do not have such problems.

So, after the ND2 rebooted itself as final step of the update sequence, it worked for a while, then crashed? - I can't remember exactly but mine didn't crash, most probably I unplugged it right after the update completed

So far, the only problem some people here reported with OS3.00 is this: http://www.norduserforum.com/nord-drum- ... t7166.html

(when a MIDI clock signal is fed to the MIDI IN of the ND2 while booting, it will be deaf to any incoming MIDI messages - not the same at all, but perhaps good to be aware of when making connections...)

well....hopefully it will just never happen again..

I just experienced the same issue. I'm on v3. Went to boot it up tonight and midi was dead . The nd manager wouldnt handshake with it either. Luckily I found this thread. Booted it up first prior to the midi controller (drumkat) and she's receiving midi again. phew!

Never had that happen.
