Pedal for the ND2

Hi !

I am going to get a nord pad 2, but i need a pedal for the kick drum. I have a boss fs-5U i tried but it doesn't seem to work. I am no drummer and i don't need an awesome pedal, just something simple and cheap to make it work.

I am new to electronic drum pads and i have to ask, why the boss fs-5u doesn't work ? What does the triggers expect on the inputs ? When i use the gate out of my synth that send 5v it works. But the pads you buy everywhere for electronic drum kits aren't running on batteries ? Maybe the module have to send some current to the pad thru the cable ?

If i try to plug a cable into the trigger inputs and touch some metal parts or my fingers it works a bit

:thanx:

Hi!

I didn't actually look up the specs of your Boss unit but it looks like a switching pedal, the ND2 expects an electric pulse, from a Piezo for example. A 'silent pedal' would perhaps be a nice solution for you: Yamaha KU100, or Roland KT-10 - perhaps others can comment on how well they work - how sturdy they are etc. You could also buy a bassdrum pad + bassdrum pedal but that's more noisy, and bit more of a hassle to set up etc

Have fun playing!

I use the kick pedal from my Guitar Hero drumkit and it works fine with the ND2 :-). Would be a pretty cheap solution perhaps?

Hi!
I didn't know they were so cheap!
As long as it works, and if you like the 'action' of the pedal, ...
It's a piezo in a springed pedal, basically all you need..
- is it sturdy?
