Hi Thosten,

saw this only now, I hope it's not too late (but it's never too late ;-) )

This song is easy to play and funny, I did this years ago with a band, so I made a patch for my NS2,73.
The keybed is splitted into three parts: in the highest octave there's the Clav for the intro and the middle reggae type part too.

The Clav is done by type C clav, layered with an synth (wave 22) for the characteristical vibrato.

In the middle splitzone there is the pad, done by the original library sample "synthpad1__ste CLv4". This sample is originally placed on nr.73 but I reorganized my sample memory, so in this patch its located at nr 42. You have to change this number.
The pad is also layered by the organ (Slot B), for a church effect in the chorus. In the verse I switch it to drawbar preset2 which is only 888 basic hammond, as you can hear in the sound file, I attached.

Forget the owl bass in the left zone, I played it in the chorus because my bandmates liked that ;-)
I liked to play this song very much, hope you like it too.

best wishes
Bernard

The sound was a preset from the Ensoniq SD1 synth called 'Florida Keys'. Most synth sounds from the We Can't Dance album are from the Korg Wavestation, Ensoniq VFX/SD1 or Roland Jd800.

There is a preset in the DSX banks of the Digital Synsations in the UVI software that is called "Miami Keys" which is 99% like the Florida Keys. This could be sampled if you need to have "the" intro sound of this Genesis hit !
