Sample for 'Kids' - MGMT

Post by Jyazz21 »

Could anyone tell me what that sound would be close to? (the one that is doing that melodic riff)

Cheers!

I haven't found anything that's spot on in the library as of yet.

It sounds like a lo-fi sample of an oriental flute with an obvious looping point that gives it a tremolo character.
My first thought was Casio SK-1

They're definitely using a moog there, a sine wave. I got a sound that sounds almost exactly like it on my moog prodigy, but the minimoog, voyager, or little phatty could get that sound going pretty easily as well.
