"Super Saw" with the Wave
Hey Folks,
I was wondering if anyone has done a convincing "super saw" sound with the Wave? It seems the Wave doesn't have enough oscillators (and no unison), so can I fake it with samples?
thanks!

Re: "Super Saw" with the Wave
Hi Tay,
Why let the Wave's dual oscillator design or absence of a unison feature corrupt your thinking? You have fine tune on OSC2. Also, in the f/x section you have chorus and can set delay to super fast rate to fatten things up, too. You should be able to dial something up without samples pretty quickly which will sound good, especially if you load the identical program into both slots A and B, and then bump a few of the aforementioned settings just slightly to create your own custom unison mode.
And then to top that off, there are hundreds of synth samples in the Nord Sample Library. Chances are good that there's a saw or two in there which will speed you along that task.
Bless,
Pablo

Re: "Super Saw" with the Wave
Pablo, thanks for your help!
I'm getting a sound that, while not quite the typical many-saws sound, is quite cool! I'll have a look around the sample library
cheers

Re: "Super Saw" with the Wave
And if you do not find one, how about making one in Audacity? You can generate sawtooth and square waves all a slightly different frequencies and mix them up, then load the result in the Wave via the sample editor.

Re: "Super Saw" with the Wave
Yeah, the sample library seems to have more complete sounds, and I just want the raw waves. I generated the detuned saws in software. Looking forward to putting them on the Wave this evening

hirocl1b If you like to share your sample for free, you could simply upload it here, or even better in the "nord samples" section as everybody else do. It seems to me that you just try to attract people to visit your twitter page.

Re: "Super Saw" with the Wave
Hello,alex78
I'm sorry I seem to be misled.
Since I do not know how to use the "nord samples" section and how to upload files, I used the method described above.
I hope to upload sound patches to this forum by learning one.
