Nord Lead A1 Midi Channels

Hey.

I've recently purchased a Nord Lead A1 and i'm using it with Logic 9, connected via USB. I love the A1 but i have one problem:

Whenever i record MIDI notes into logic on MIDI channel 1 and want to assign / play a different Patch on MIDI channel 2, the sound also changes on MIDI Channel 1.

So for example: I create a MIDI track in Logic (Nord Lead Midi channel 1) and then create another MIDI track (Nord Lead Midi Channel 2) and change the sound / patch for this track, it changes the sound GLOBALLY for both MIDI channels / tracks. Why?

Is it even possible to have two individual Patches on two individual Midi channels / tracks, playing at the same time?

Maybe the Slot MIDI Channel option can help...?

I don't get it. There are 4 slots and each slot has 16 channels…why?

I just want to have a different patch for each midi channel.

Hi Bama,

No, each slot does not have 16 channels. Each slot has a single midi channel which is selected from 1-16 (or off). Your Global Channel is probably also set to 1 which would explain the program change behavior. Set the Global Channel to something else and you will probably be happy.

Bless,
