Hi, i was just wondering if nord stage users were generally happy with the nord stand? as no store near me has one i can see.
were there were any alternatives people preferred, that were cheaper or had other features? is it easy to assemble, transport? is it worth its price?

I don't own it, but I have seen it and played on it in the showroom.
IMHO,
it is rock solid, no motion at all while playing. It has a very vintage look, much like the original legs of the Rhodes, Hohner Clavinet, and Moog Polymoog.
Assembly takes longer, and is more tedious than using an X style stand.
To put the legs and cross braces on requires an extra 8 steps and 5 minutes.
If I was going to put it together once and leave it, or pay someone else to do it every show, I'd buy it in a second.

Without a doubt, get one. It is rock solid. Less than 5mm movement if you swing on it.
The added bonus is that if you set up your nord in whacking distance of a door, the stand has a bigger footprint than the board, so the door will strike the foot, thus not ruining the nice end woodwork. I find this great, following spending a fortune on my Stage EX88, I'd hate to ding it!
most importantly, it's solid. There is nothing worse than a rocking stand. When you've slung a couple of £K at at nice keyboard, why skimp on a stand?

nord stage stand is great but for two keyboard set up... Does anyone know the manufacturer of the dual keyboard stand shown in photos from the nord exhibit at musikmesse?
Features stage 2 and electro 3? Looks very slick and like to buy one.

I'm not sure. I think it's a König and Meyer stand.

I'd say 2-3 minutes, 2 if you are used to it. I can strike my keyboard at the end of gigs quicker than the sax players get packed up sometimes. Great stand, but not sure if the extensions are high enough for everyone to use standing up.
I just got an Ultimate AX90, incredible stand. Heavy, but assembled in about 90 seconds.

I preferred The Koenig un Meyer Spider Pro stand. It just looks veeery cool and has space for two keyboards. Although it is not entirely stable. I made a review with very bad audio here:
Sorry about it being too low, I actually made a mistake and instead of recording with the mic, The laptop´s mic was recording instead!
Most solid stands with great portability are apparently Z stands. The ones with legs like nord´s are ultra stable, but slower to assemble and look less cool (which may or not be a decisive factor for some)

I own the "Nord's legs" and it is very stable, BUT the keyboard is too high now. It is not IMO the right height to play comfortably.
I use the smallest extensions available and still it is higher than a regular acoustic piano : I have troubles finding the correct position...
Does anyone else share the same opinion ?

I also find the Nord Stand a little high even at the lowest setting but elected to purchase an adjustable seat to compensate. Love the stand as it is as everyone seems to confirm, extremely stable and quiet. No squeaks and it does not run away on you no matter how hard you play.

I have just started using the Nord Stand for my Stage 2. I tend to play standing up, although may review this depending how easy it is to use all my pedals and not fall over. So far I have personally found the Nord Stand to be a little low for me (I am about 6' 2") and my back was hurting after three hours of practice the other night. I would like Nord to offer a slightly longer length leg extension (for want of a better word - no rude jokes please) as this would be more comfortable. I may have to resort to using my Quicklock double braced stand which is fine (albeit with less free space for pedals). The other advantage of the Quicklock is that it has two tiers. Failing that I will need to consider sitting down at gigs. Can anyone recommend a good piano stool which is available in the UK?
