Just bought a Lead 2, and I have 3 simple questions

Hey! So I have three questions about my Lead 2 that I hope y'all can help me out with.

1) I can't find the Lead 2 user manual online anywhere. Can someone please send me a copy of the .pdf file or point me in the right direction? I've contacted Nord about the .pdf on their website being broken, but it would be great if someone on here had it laying around on a hard-drive somewhere.

2) If I ever needed a good sounding rhodes patch on the Lead 2, what is the best way to go about it? Should I upload a patch via my computer that I dig? Is there a reliable guide online somewhere that shows how to build a patch yourself with an analog synth/with a Nord Lead 2? Should I just take the time to build it myself?

3) And the same goes for a Hammond B3 sound - I have a 122 Leslie, so I'm really looking for a full-drawbar (all 8's) tone-wheel sound without leslie emulation -- is the system-built "Performance" organ sounds the best out there for the Lead 2? If so, great, but once again, what would y'all do to make it sound best?

Thanks!

Hi!

1. Could it be this one?
http://www.vintagesynth.com/manuals/Nor ... Manual.pdf

2. L2X: on page 97, Bank 0, there are some Wurli and Rhodes mentioned ... perhaps you could download and import some of them with a sysex-tool on your computer?
http://www.nordkeyboards.com/sites/defa ... eng%29.pdf

3. Performance Bank 1, 1.G5-1.H7, in my Lead 2X are drawbar organ style patches. They might work? Se the L2X manual above.

You should be able to use stuff from the L2X, since they are almost the same.

Questions, questions ... all the time! :)

Thanks!

1. I've been successfully using that manual so far, but it says it's the Nord Lead Software Version 2 - does that mean Lead 2? or Lead 1 Software Version 2? Either way, thanks, and I'll just keep using that one.

2. All I can find in the performance presets are various sounds, but no rhodes.. then there are organ sounds, then prophet 5 sounds... So I was hoping to find a guide to building a rhodes sound with VA synths.

3. the Lead 2 has the same organ performance presets, but I was hoping for a non-leslie, full-drawbar (888-888-888) patch, and the performance presets has a lot of Leslie-emulated patches... so I'll probably just tweak around the performance presets I have and drop the LFO's off the individual patches.

Thanks again-

The manual in the link is indeed for the original Nord Lead, software version 2. This is however virtually identical to the Nord Lead 2; there are a couple of minor differences, such as the fact that the filter keyboard tracking is a simple on/off parameter on the original Nord Lead, but settable in steps of 1/3 on the 2.
