Hi,
I wonder if it would be useful to add under the "Forums" menu category option at the top, a link to "Your unread posts" or similar? That saves time in going to Portal and then clicking the option when one does not have the User Menu visible. Do not worry if it is difficult or inconvenient, I can live without it and as always, thanks for keeping the forum alive! :thanx:

When you open the portal, on the first page, about two thirds of the way down, on the right hand side, there is a line saying "View New Posts".

Is this what you mean?

No, I mean to add a link into the top menu, so you can be anywhere and in 1 click see all the unread posts.

Hi, sounds reasonable and since there is space, added one for NEW (not unread!) posts, as personally I find this feature more reasonable, assuming one is not interested in reading ALL unread posts, which can be hundreds! But I could add unread as well, or make a sub-menu with new and unread posts.
Best,
Johannes

Great! am not sure what is the difference between new and unread (well, I do understand, but unsure if this returns the same list as the "unread" in the user menu?
Thanks again!

It IS the same as the list "new" posts in the user menu.
Unread = all topics or postsy you have not read yet (which can be many ;-) )
New = all posts since your LAST visit.

Hm... I use the "unread" more. Otherwise my own posts appear (which obviously I have read) within the session. Presumably we all use the forum differently.
If the menu bar becomes too crowded, maybe these can be added to the Forums entry as sub-entries?

Thanks Johannes for adding the "unread" link!
