Nord Sound Manager not recognising 2 Nord 4's

Hi there,
I have 2 Nord Lead 4's connected to my macbook pro via usb and i'm having a problem whilst selecting the Nord Sound Manager to transfer patches. My Mac only picks up the N4r and not my other N4 KB.
I have the N4r being controlled by the N4 KB which is all fine as both Nords show up in Logic X however when i want to save a sound in the Sound Manager it only recognises the one Nord. When i open the sound manager i see the sounds from the rack but if i pull out the usb cable to upload sounds from the keyboard it says no nord connected or something when it clearly is.
Any ideas about this?
Thanks
Rob

So do you have them both connected at the same time? You mention unplugging the N4R and still not getting the NL4 to work, but do you unplug it while the Sound Manager is running, or do you quiet the Sound Manager, unplug the N4R, plug in the NL4 and then start the Sound Manager again?
I don't have two Nords of the same type (or with USB for that matter) so I can't check if it would even work with both connected. I wouldn't be surprised if Sound Manager has some issues when you have both connected.
Off topic: It's Rob Lee!! :-)

Hi there,
I have both the Nords connected via usb which Logic sees no problem, i have some great sounds coming out of this with each slot x8 on different midi channels, everything perfect but it seems the Nord Sound Manager only picks up the rack module. Maybe its recognised and the primary Nord here..
This really is an amazing synth.. wanna see how the Nord Drum 2 integrates with this although i can get top notch drums out of the NL4 too.
Thanks again, yes this is Rob Lee

I have this sorted now.. in order to either update or use the sound manager i have to unplug the USB of whichever Nord i'm not updating or using to transfer sounds etc. It seems that my mac doesn't pickup both Nords although when i open the likes of Logic is see 2 available Nord inputs via USB.
I have to update and transfer sounds to each synth but i must unplug one at a time to do so.

Maybe you could mention this to Clavia. Maybe they would be interested to know about this and they might be able to add a choice of which device to send the data to in a future version of the the software.

Yes i think i should send them a message actually. I'm having the same problem now in Logic X... Only one of my NL4's syncs to master clock.. when i have 2 connected then they get confused and only one of them will sync.
If i unplug one all is fine. It seems that if i connect one via midi and not usb then all is fine. Another problem here is that if I'm using the NL4 KB to control the N4r then i can assign slots A-D on channels 1-4 but the master KB even though set A-D on channels 5-8 will play all 4 slots together. I'm not sure why this is happening but i think that even though i have 2 NL4's connected vis USB i think that Logic is confused. Not sure Nord has expected someone to be using more than one NL4.
So when i open Logic i see 2 USB but it doesn't say Nord Input 1 and 2 it just shows Nord Input and another Nord Input.. this means i have to create midi tracks etc and hit keys to see exactly which Nord is on which input.. hard to explain but there's something not right at all here.
Will try other configurations tonight.
