Abacab - Genesis

Here is my split for Abacab by Genesis. You will need the prophet organ sample I previously uploaded.

The organ is on left side of the split, the Quadra to the right.

I sampled the Quadra from the Vst for Kontakt. 21 samples hence the size of the file.

enjoy!

Hi,
Who has a patch for the Prophet 08 for the 5th synth sound? I'm still torn between playing this song with the C2 and the Prophet 08 above or with the Stage 2...

Hi Keego19.
I'm not a smart user of my keyboards, so please forgive me if my questions are stupid.
How can I create the sound on my Nord Wave (1)?
I uploaded your sample of the abacab synth, and then I tried to put in one slot (A) on OSC2 with the mix totally on OSC2, so it means that slot B is off and OSC1 on slot B is silent. I suppose I have to create the right envelope, filter, LFO etc to have the right sound. But I don't know how you obtained that complete sound.
I use an organ on my electro6 (lower keyboard, left hand) but I would like to have the synth on the Wave (upper keyboard, right hand).
Can you help me?

Hi,

here is a screenshot with the synth settings of the Nord Stage 2 program provided in the initial post. I don't know thw Nord Wave and am therefore not sure if you could replicate it, but might be worth a try?

You would also need the prophet organ sample from this thread to fully replicate it: post36934.html?hilit=prophet#p36934, it's in the Synth B section. The Quadra sample is in Synth A

With the Wave, you should be able to recreate a nice sound using a sawtooth wave for OSC1 and a sawtooth wave set 7 semitones above for OSC2. I don't have a Wave but would suggest starting with the following parameters for the AMP and FILTER: Attack 0, Decay 10, Sustain 10, Release 0 (might be the default for an initialized program). You might want to reach out to folks in the Wave Forum as well. If you want to work from a sample, I just posted one I put together from a Stage 3 program I use that has the synth organ on the left and synth 5ths on the right. The MP3 has the intro drum loop with the first note played and then I come in with the sample. Just reverb is needed but a little echo effect works well with it too. Good luck!

Thanks WannitBBBad.
It works. The best way seems to operate with 2 detuned OSC per each lot, and you can play a perfect 5th with one finger. It's perfect at the beginning of the song. I had to reduce the volume of the detunet OSC going on because Tony doesn't play with one finger but he always plays in a 5th way and sometimes in a 4th way, so the single note can't really operate with a strong 5th, but a light 5th is ok and makes the sound very similar. No samples used. I used a normal B3 for the organ on Electro 6 splitting the keyboard with the same sound for the left and right hand.

I didn't try the solution by Schorsch because the one with the 2+2 osc works.
Thanks to all of you guys.
