Just bought a Nord Lead 4 to possibly replace my NL2. There are a couple of things that appear to be omitted from the 4, namely Ring Mod and the ability to manually choose the pulse width. Surely it can't be too hard to implement variable pulse width that can be continuously swept and set from the OSC1 dial? This way we could then apply some PWM to wherever it is rather than a square all the time.

I think the subject has been brought up in another thread but, yes, it's a curious omission. I think it boils down to the fact that they didn't want the expense of a separate knob to control the pulse width. At least you can set it in three steps using the waveform selector which should help,

Overall, I think Clavia are fighting a constant battle between the having lots of parameters and hence knobs and trying to keep the price reasonable by having as little hardware as possible. A lot of the design choices on the '4 seem evidence of this. I think they want to avoid the situation they had with the NL3, which had a glorious user interface but which was too expensive (and possibly also too complex) to sell in large enough numbers.
