Piano Octave Switch and Clavinet Short Decay

Hi everyone,

I just bought a Clavia Nord Stage EX 76. It is all great, but I have two questions about it...

- 1. It seems that, with the Octave Switch in the Piano, I cannot play the higher than a G.. So i miss the 4 highest notes of a normal acoustic piano. Why can't I switch the octave to +1 ?

- 2. On a real Hohner Clavinet there is a slider on the right side to change the decay time of played notes. Is this possible on the Nord Stage?

Thanks everyone,

Regards, Rens

Hi,
indeed the Pianos allow Octave Swith only 0 or -1 so since the COMPACT has 73 Keys and one octave switch this seems to imply that some keys on top are missing. But if you need a more real piano, the 76 or 88 with their weighted keys give you the full range. But I agree, its kind of weird that they just don't allow more. In particular the hight notes of the Piano are rather easy to replicte, but personally, I don't use them often anyways.

With regards to the Clavinet, this has not been replicated, possible can play around with FX (in particular WahWah I guess)??

Thanks for your reply!

I figured out a way to play the piano 4 keys higher than the highest G on my Stage EX 76. You can do that by splitting the keyboard into 2 zones, with the splitpoint on the highest B. Now you can transpose the piano on the lower part of the keyboard one octave up (+1). And reach to the highest B on the piano!

By the way: that new Upright Piano is fantastic, isn't it?
