Speakers for my Nord Piano 88

Hey guys!

I'm in big need of your advice. A week ago or so I got my NP88 along with a pair of KRK Rokit 6 G2 speakers. I was recommended these speakers by the seller due to the superb sound. But I am highly disappointed with them. The sound sounds like a 200$ piano. And I know I like the sounds, because I think they sound awesome on Clavias website as well as the boogie on the upright walkthrough at youtube...

So I need a pair of new speakers. Any suggestions? They gotta be priced at about 910$ or 5000 NOK max. The KRK's costed 4000 NOK. They suck, so do I have to get some REALLY expensive studio monitors to make them work, or just another brand, like a pair of Adams? Or maybe a Stagepas 300 would suit me better? I will try to arrange it so I can try using my NP with the Stagepas...

Really looking forward to suggestions,
cheers!

I got some Rokit 6 speakers too and I use them for mixing - they are fairly neutral but I agree not great to run your Piano thru. Before splashing out on new speakers have you considered running the piano thru a pre-amp? I use an old Sony tapedeck, it adds some warmth. In the end it's all about what you're looking for; home studio speakers range from a couple of hundred bucks to several thousands - there's gotta be a reason dontchathink?

Hi,
Maybe if the store has a Nord Stage, you could ask then to plug different brands so you can find the one you are looking for.
Or maybe you can ask then to bring yours and test the speakers there.

Thanks for letting me know! The seller just costed me 800$ for a pair of monitors that are not suited for the piano at all. I really need to give the guy a call.
There's probably a reason indeed, but honestly, how much must I pay to get the sound the NP are famous for? Shouldn't be that much. I'll try it through a Stagepas 300 some time next week hopefully.

It's three hours from here, and my father has already droven me twice, I doubt he's very excited to drive down there again. :)

The Stagepas 300 could be a could option. I use a Stagepas 500 for stage amplication and that's pretty good even the bass is quite good, considered that it's only 10 inch speakers inside. I tried the Stagepas300 in the store and it was distorting pretty soon (at not very high levels) but then again you wouldn't run at high levels at home.
I listened to these Rokits too(the Red ones, forgot the size) but I thought they sounded pretty good.
