Program Editing Question

Hi guys - fairly new to making my own programs and just need a quick bit of help . If I have my NS2 split with pianos at the bottom and my synths up top....there is the "effects" section on the top right where I can select the source and add EQ/drive, etc. But when I do that to pianos and then switch to synths I lose the changes I made to pianos and vice versa. Is there any way to have these effects active for both pianos and synths on the same program??

What do you mean with switch? Are you actually switching programs? If you change a program but do not save, you lose your changes when you switch programs.

I'm not completely sure about this, but I think the effects only affect the primary two outputs; anything you send out the primary outputs will be affected by the effects. If you send a sound out the outputs 3 and 4 (possible as a stereo signal), they will not have the effects applied.

At least that is how I think it works, but I don't have an NS2 anymore nor did I consult the manual, so I might just be wrong :-)

when I say "switch" I just mean switch the source selection in the effects menu. Once I take the source off piano after editing, the changes I made are not active. I want to change the effects for both sources in the same program and have them both stay - is this possible?

Maybe you can get what you want by putting your piano in slot A and your synth in slot B. This way you can have two independent effects sections.

Misunderstood what you were trying to accomplish.

Sorry DJ, but as I read the OP the answer is NO. It is not possible to, for example, use the delay on piano and synth at the same time. Each individual effect in the f/x section can only be assigned to one instrument section at a time, so choices must be made.

As Juholaatu stated, segregating things to different slots is the strategy for fine-tuning what you what. If you absolutely must have EQ for both synth and piano, put them on different slots and layer the two slots together.

Bless,

Pablo

Hi, Pablo-

Thanks. I misunderstood the OP. I did not realize he was trying to have the effects on two different instrument types in the same slot.
