MIDI control of GSIburn

Hi,
I'm bought the new GSIburn rotary simulator, which offers MIDI functionality. I run in a strange (at least for myself) problem connecting it with my NordStage 2.
There are basically two things i like to control via MIDI from my NS2.
1.) Change the presets at GSIburn according to the NS2 Program Banks (program change numbers are stored)
2.) Change the rotary speed (slow/fast) and Stop Mode
What happen:
- If I set Midi Global Channel: off in the NS2 Midi Menu, the presets are changing correct on the GSIburn when i change the program bank however the stop and slow/fast button at the NS2 doesn't result in an action on the GSIburn
- If I set Midi Global Channel: 1 I can control slow/fast stop at the GSIBurn via the NS2 buttons but the presets doesn't change as stored at the NS2. If i switch from one program bank to the next one, on the GSIburn the presets change to the next one too but not to the stored one.
Is that a correct behaviour, a bug, a feature or do i something wrong?
best regards
Wilfried

What are the other MIDI settings on your NS2?

Since the Program Change is sent also with Global = off, looks like you have some other Midi Channel active (at Slot or Section level)

Hi. I can help with this. I have the Burn working with my NS2 - I gigged with it last Friday. There is probably more than one way to do it. I can tell you how I did it.

On the Burn I set the midi channel to Omni and the controller type to NS2.

On the NS2 I set the global channel on and program change send to off. I also set the midi channel for piano, organ and synth to off.

I used the extern section to send program change and CC commands to the Burn.
For Slot A on extern I set the midi channel to 1 - then I set the control change on and set the value to the program I wanted on the Burn. So it doesn't have to match the one I am using on the NS2. YOu can also send a CC such as 103 ( Bypass ) or turn on or off the Tube distortion. I have all of the controllable parameters on the Burn mapped to controllers on the NS2.

You can also turn on the B slot extern section to send an additonal CC message if necessary.

Hope this helps.
