Electro 3 MIDI Question
Hi,
I'm new to this forum, apologies if I'm asking a repeat question.
I use an FCB1010 MIDI controller with a range of gear, and hoped to control 2 things on the Electro 3 but believe that its not possible. So I'm looking for confirmation... or if there is a way a pointer as to how to accomplish it.
First, using a MIDI footpedal to control overall volume. It appears this is not supported.
Second, selecting a programmed setting from the Prog A / B banks.
I've spent an afternoon trying to sort out how... without luck. Thanks in advance for any words of wisdom!!

A list of MIDI CC controls can be found here:
http://www.nortonmusic.com/midi_cc.html
CC11 will control volume, if your pedal sends that CC info on the Nord's selected channel.
Bank select is CC0 and program change is CC32, if that helps.

Re: Electro 3 MIDI Question
Fantastic response!! I'll give that a try soon... busy week ahead so it will be until next weekend at the earliest. What astounds me is that the info is not in the manual, or found through the corporate Nord site.
Anyways... this is a HUGE leap forward in getting this part of my rig under control. Thanks!!!!

Re: Electro 3 MIDI Question
There are only 128 presets, so there is no need for bank select, just plain Program Change will do it.
For volume, you want CC#7, not CC#11. The information is in the manual. Page 23: "Incoming MIDI Controller 7 controls the overall volume of the Electro 3 ." It's also listed on page 24, in the list of all available CCs, as "gain."
CC11 is not volume, it's control pedal (also listed on page 24). The control pedal may or may not also perform a volume function, depending on the program, as described on page 7: "A connected pedal can be used as a swell pedal for the organs, a volume pedal for pianos and samples and also as a controller for two of the effects: the P-wah and the ring modulator (RM)."

Re: Electro 3 MIDI Question
Anotherscott is absolutely correct. Use CC7 for volume only, CC11 for expression pedal.
