Splits with 2 synth sounds

Hi, Any tips on how to create splits using 2 synth sounds. Is it possible to split 2 factory sounds or do I have to find something close to what I want and then set the parameters. Also, if I want to set up a Clav and piano split, how do I do it?
Thanks

Check page 11 of the manual for a quick run-through of how to do this. Basically you select if you want to split the keyboard into 2 or three parts and then per section decide in what part of the split that section should be. Note you cannot split on arbitrary keys; the green LEDs above the keyboard will show you where the currently active split points are.
Chapter 5 (page 20) has more info.

Thnx for the reply. I know how to do splits. I've done a few. I'm wondering how you get 2 different piano sounds, each assigned to their own zone. or 2 different synth patches assigned to 2 different splits. Basically, how do you have 2 different patches (clav and piano) from the same sound engine split...say clav down low and piano up top. Thanks

To split or layer two sounds from the same sound engine (piano, organ, or sample/synth), put one of the sounds in Slot A and the other in Slot B, and activate both slots.

I think I know what you're getting at Rusty. What you want to do is split two of the factory sounds which both may use both slots. i.e. have one factory sound on the right and another on the left. I would like to know if this is possible also.....and if so how to do it.
Cheers

No it is not possible if the 2 factory sounds use both slots; for any program you always have a max of 2 Organ, 2 Piano, 2 Synth and 2 Effects sections (1 of each per panel)
So if even one of the sounds you want to layer/split uses more than one instance of each unit, you can't "merge" them in a single new program to split/layer them.
