I'm about to go on tour (Germany>UK and back) with my nord lead, but I'm not sure about how should I transport it. Any ideas/experiences?

Phone the airline and ask them to avoid desperation if they tell you that you can't get in the plane with it. Weight and size of hand luggage is usually mentioned when you book tickets.

I doubt they'll let it on as hand luggage.

I think there are three sure fire approaches:
1. Invest in a flight case and put it in the hold.
2. Courier it out ahead of your visit and then courier it back again - can actually be cheaper than what a low cost airline would charge for extra hold baggage. Check out http://www.myhermes.co.uk
3. Back up your lead using sound manager and hire one out there (or get the promoter to hire one).

Thanks, folks. I'll check the rules for hand luggage dimensions, first.
