Is it possible to use external effects pedals and headphones

Post by moogprodigy »

I was wondering if its possible to plug headphones into the headphones jack and somehow use effects pedals like a wah or delay. Doesn't seem like its possible but just confirming.

You can plug a headphone into the headphone jack and place effects pedals between the outputs of the Nord and your powered speakers (or audio interface), but you wouldn't hear their effect on the headphone output. If you did want to hear their effect on a headphone or personal monitor, it might be a good idea to introduce a small mixer in the signal path; it would sit in between the Nord's outputs and your powered speakers (audio interface). You'd connect the effects pedals using the insert jacks and the mixer would allow you the change the amount you want the affected signal to be present on the mixer's outputs (i.e. 100% dry signal up to 100% wet).

Is this for a home setup, or more of a live situation?

P.s. I'm probably fairly cryptic; don't hesitate to ask for something more understandable :-)
