NS2 Compact SW73 Keyboard Feel

Yesterday I was at GC to try the NS2 SW73 Compact. All they had was the 88 key version with the weighted keys.
I enjoyed the sounds and the feel of the keyboard. I would like to know how the SW73 keyboard feels.
I played the Electro 4D with 61 SW keys, and the keys were shorter than the Stage keys, and I did not like the
feel of the keys -- they felt loose and cheap.
I hope the keys on the Compact SW73 are not short and that the feel of the keyboard is better than on the Electro 4D.

AFAIK, the keys on the NS2-73, NE3 (non HP models), and NE 4 (ditto) are all identical (except that the NS2 version adds aftertouch).

...as scott said, they are in theory the same in that they are based on the same model, only that the NS has aftertouch, which already makes a difference, at least for the "bottoming out".
That being said, I personally always felt a difference between the NE and NS compact keyboards with the latter being a tad more solid and a bit more piano-ish. But you have to try it out yourself. Definitivelt a good idea to play the SW73 first IMHO, even if it implies taking a trip!

i bough the NS2 SW73 recently, mostly for weight and transport, and i was quite afraid because i wasn't able to try it before buy, and was used to hammer 88 keys keyboards.
Honestly, i was very pleased with it. It's not so light (not at all a "synth" felling) and is very responsive and fast… even for pianos (i'm not a "classic" pianist), it work fine, in a band/rock situation (where you want to often get in high velocities). It's just great !

I also have the SW 73 and the keyboard action is one of the best semi weighted I have felt. It has just enough resistance, works well for organ smears or piano for me, and has a solid and quality feel. The only better semi weighted action I have ever felt is the keys on my Kawai K5000S.

I have an NS2 SW73 too. Best thing would be for you to try it out if you can. But in my opinion, the key feel is great. Even for pianos, I find them expressive enough (for all genres except classical). And I prefer the quick bounce back compared to weighted keys that allow me to play the same key in quick succession (for clav riffs and solos), which weighted keys won't allow.

Fully agree - I have an NS2 compact and wouldn't move to a 76/88 for the world. The keybed is great, lighter than my real piano at home (and the Krome 88) - perfectly suited for Live gigging without breaking my back.

I know it's not Nord's fault, but what I wouldn't give for a low "E" ... :-)

The 76 is really not heavy. But then I used to carry around a P200...
