Restoring Facrory Settings

Post by scaramouche »

I am trying to do a factory restore. I am going into the latest Sound Manager, clicking on "BackuP" but every time I've tried, it comes back "download failed" on my computer. I'm using Windows 7 operating system. ? what am I doing wrong?

You need to click on Restore then point to the backup file on your PC.

Thanks, Darren, but I don't think the settings are being downloaded ONTO my hard drive. If I hit restore it bring me up to the file , but the file is empty.

Wait - I'm confused now.

Do you want:
1. To lose all your current NS2 sounds and programs and revert back to the factory supplied ones (Factory Restore)
2. Backup all your current NS2 sounds and programs to a file on your PC.

I downloaded a file-it inserted into synth partition (#116), ever since then I "lost" every synth program above "116. So now I'm trying to get my Nord back to factory setting and start over again.

OK if you're sure.

Before you do anything, take a backup of your current setup (Click Backup in the Sound Manager, point to your desktop and give it a name like "Backup - 20130220.ns2b")

You will need the factory backup file which you can get from here: http://www.nordkeyboards.com/downloads/ ... ry1.4.ns2b

Save this file to your desktop.

Now go back into the Sound Manager and click Restore - browse to your desktop and pick the file named "Nord Stage2 factory1.4.ns2b"
The restore will take about 40 minutes or so. After which the sound manager will likely detect that the sounds need to be updated to v5.3 - let it do this and then you'll be back to day 1.
