Hi all. Could a whole new bank of synth samples be downloaded from Nord (if they wanted to do so) for the Stage EX? Would be cool to update my Stage EX.

NS EX doesn't support Samples in synth section.... just Synth "programs", so maybe that's what you mean?

nss. from the factory to replace the existing ones. Say, some strings samples, a vintage bank, a percussion bank, etc. Exclusive to the EX from Nord.

As Max said, the Stage Classic and Stage EX Synth sections do not support samples. Synth programs on those instruments are merely collections of parameter settings, literally snapshots of knob/button positions.

Since these are user-storable, folks are free to twiddle away at the knobs to their heart's content until they get the sound they want, and then store those settings into a Nord Stage Synth program -- one of the .nss format files you mention. Industrious individuals can create collections or even entire banks of personalized, customized synth settings. These would certainly be downloadable onto a Stage or Stage EX.

But they would never contain samples.

Well, he's not entirely wrong. Perhaps through some new digital waveforms in that category in the synth section. I'll bet those are hardwired in ROM though...
