Re: Nord Stage 2 Prices
Yeah I found out the same thing from my dealer. 24000-27000-28000 DKK = 3200-3600-3800 Euro for the compact, 76 and the 88.
This is WAY more than I thought. I'm getting second thoughts about doing the upgrade.
Will people really pay that much? They gotta lower the prices.
I don't understand why the prices are so high. Yes the stage 2 is alot better than the Classic/EX. But the Classic/EX are old in comparison, and it should not be more expensive to build a Stage 2 now, than it was to make a Classic 5 years ago. But what do I know.
Sigh... I was so happy.

Re: Nord Stage 2 Prices
The good thing is:
With a NS2, you have something to work for years and will not think about buying another thing with piano, e.piano, organ, synth and those sounds from the sample library.
Yes, it's a lot money, but it's worthy.
You can even copy a sound from another board using the sample feature.
I don't think Clavia will upgrade the NS more than that.
For some people, will be a keyboard for life...

Re: Nord Stage 2 Prices
I guess I shall make a trip to Copenhagen:
Here the COMPACT is sold for the equivalent of 3200 Euros (http://www.aage.dk/shop/keyboards/clavi ... mpact.html)

Yeah that was what, I was talking about in my earlier post. But that is still way too much imo.Johannes wrote:I guess I shall make a trip to Copenhagen:

Re: Nord Stage 2 Prices
There IS a reason for it to be expensive:
They want distribuitors to have the oportunity to sell their remaining Nord Stage EX. So most probably the NS2 should be around the same price. But they are authorizing distribuitors to sell it at high prices, putting a high MSRP so that they are not left with a big leftover of NSEX (lol) that NONE will buy because who will get a NSEX if for the same price you can get a NS2?
seems to me like more of a business decision than a true production cost.
I believe that perhaps in november, the NS2 will be a lot cheaper... I hope.
In the mean time I will sell my NS classic... here inMExico there is only 1 store that sells them. But they have the EX at around 3800 USD... which is expensive

Yeah that makes sense. I hope you're right. I will also sell my NS Classic soon.Gustavo wrote:There IS a reason for it to be expensive:

Re: Nord Stage 2 Prices
Not sure the price will drop significantly. After all, it is a top-notch board and people will buy it anyway.
On the upside, this will probably leave the used prices for NS Classic/EXs rather stable as they are still great boards for people who do not need the samples (mainly).
Yeah I was looking around in MEX for a Nord but had no luck! But I saw them on TV there so they must be sold somewhere...or does onee of the big US based retailers ship to MEX? (...but thats another question not really about the new NS2)

Re: Nord Stage 2 Prices
yeah, some us stores do ship here. I bought all my other gear from nova musik but shipping and importation is rather costly. There are also some stores in amazon.com that will ship to mex also. But it is still about 200USD chearper than buying from local store. Plus most stores have reaaaaallly old gear. One of them still had a Nord micromodular a year ago. And there´s tritons selling for their original price!!Johannes wrote:Not sure the price will drop significantly. After all, it is a top-notch board and people will buy it anyway.

I think I will sell my Nord Stage classic on mercado libre (which is basically ebay for latin america, but is still country specific) As a matter of fact right now I am making myself an account and taking pictures of it. Also planning on doing a small video to prove that it still works just fine. Since prices are so steep here, having the oportunity of not paying import taxes and having local shipping I could get away selling mine for 3,000 USD, which is about 1,100 USD cheaper than a new NSEX shipped here :D
I will try to sell it at 3,000 and then just lower it to 2500 and then just make it an auction with a 2,200 minimum bid. Odds are it will take some months to sell it, but I will not lose much money as I got it fro 3,200 plus importation
